Love Divine, How Sweet Thou Art! love divine, how sweet Thou art! When shall I find my willing heart All taken up by Thee ? 1 thirst, I faint, I die to prove The greatness of redeeming love, The love of Christ to me ! 2 Stronger His love than death or hell; Its riches are unsearchable: The first-born sons of light Desire in vain its depths to see; They cannot reach the mystery, The length, and breadth, and height. 3 God only knows the love of God; Oh, that it now were shed abroad In this poor stony heart: For love I sigh, for love I pine: This only portion, Lord, be mine, Be mine this better part. 4 Oh, that I could for ever sit With Mary at the Masters feet; Be this my happy choice My only care, delight, and bliss, My joy, my heaven on earth, be this, To hear the Bridegrooms voice. The king has traveled from the eastern horizon to the western one, he’s journeyed all through both the banks that make up rivered Egypt, but he’s the greatest power he’s found, a force beyond all forces; He’s the falcon of falcons, most rapacious and holy of all, if he finds anyone in his path he eats him raw. The home of the king is the place the sun rises, he’s foremost among the spirits and gods. His servants are infinite: immense the number of his worshippers. He was given all power in heaven and earth by Rigel, the brightest star in Orion, brightest in the whole southern sky, Rigel, father of the gods. The king shines out anew in the sky, victorious, a rising sun, he wears the white crown of Southern Egypt, he’s king of theg ods, enthroned on the horizon. He snapped the spines, pulled out the hearts of the gods. He ate the red crown of Northern Egypt, gulped down its goddess the great cobra Wadjet, he embodies the country’s unity, swallows it up in one-ness. THE HYMN. Glory to Thee,Father! Thou couldst not at all be conscious Of what thou dost suffer, Were I not sent as the Word by the Father. The last clause may be emended: I am thy Word; I was sent bythe Father. Seeing what Isuffer, Thou sawest Me as suffering; And seeing, thou didst not stand, But wast moved wholly, Moved to be wise. Thou hast Me for acouch; rest thou upon Me. Who I am thou shaltknow when I depart. What now I am seento be, that I am not. [But what I am]thou shalt see when thou comest. If thou hadst know how to suffer, Thou wouldst havepower not to suffer. But do thou understand all, and, understanding, say: Glory to Thee, Father! Amen! Now the body of the Aspiring One becomes restless andthose who attend him place the power of Hori over his face. He hears the voiceof The SunGod, which says, I know the necessary names, I am The Knower ofNames. I know the name of The Limitless One, above The Lords of the East andWest, I am One Most Powerful. The Aspiring One becomes covered with moisture, he writhes,he shouts, he struggles. The Companionable Watchers know he has left theprotection of The Sungod, that he has been seized by the Fiends of Darkness,but he struggles and prevails over them, and all is well. Then the Aspiring Onereturns. A hundred shining suns whirl above, a whisper rolls aroundlike thunder, lights of manifold hues sway above, like the river reeds in thewind. All things appear to dance in a shimmering haze, then turn over and foldback into themselves, and such beauty is produced that the human tongue cannotdescribe it. All things take upon themselves shimmering forms through whichother forms can be seen. Great melodic music throbs all around, whileeverything pulsates a soft rhythm. The air is filled with voices of unearthlysweetness, glory and splendour are everywhere. Then the Aspiring One awakes. He is raised, behold he comes forth and walks as one bemusedby a vision of glory. He staggers, he cannot walk unsupported. His throat burnsand his mouth is overgrown with dryness. His head resounds with drumbeats. Heis given the sweet waters in the cup of forgetfulness and drinks deeply, all iswell. He is a Reborn One, he is an Enlightened One. He is one resurrected fromthe Cavern of Stone. O departed one risen to glory, who has left us tosorrow. As we have helped you and surrounded you with the protection of ourlove and our offerings, so now help us in the days of life left to us onEarth. Yahshua said, “Is it not written, ‘He will come to theworthy and just, but to the people He will be like a winnowing fan, ensuringonly the best are gathered in’? “It is also said, ‘He will bless those who follow Him withwisdom and gladness. He will be sinless, gathering together a dedicated peoplewhom He will lead in righteousness as an example to all nations. They will castout the ungodly from their midst. There is no God but The True God, and His existence is ourassurance of life everlasting. He was before the beginning and will be afterthe end. He is mighty and all powerful. In His magnificence andmajesty no man can conceive Him. His divine nature is beyond the understandingof man. His creation is awesome. His ways unfathomable. His creative thought brought all things forth and the powerwhich flows from Him is life. He holds life within His mind and the universewithin His body. The heavens declare Thy glory, Lord !
