Lunch at Red Lobster with Alison Whitworth Ware and my recuperating mother , recently hospitalized. Hsppy to say she enjoyed a regular meal and had the appetite to eat it all , which is good to see after her very rough bout if severe diverticulitis in the hospital . If she will stick w the recommended dietary restrictions she shd do all right , the doctors say. We r arranging Meals on Wheels five days a week and Comfort Keepers half days on Saturdays and Tuesdays and will line up home delivery of personal hygiene supplies by UPD. Also encourage her to join in church activities and projects and age appropriate exercise classes to build up flexibility and strength. If more comfort keepers time appears necessary ? We will have to add more days for them to come out . The goal is to let her continue to remain in her home, provide for reliable and responsible care , assure good quality meals are eaten daily during the week and that one day out of weekend a comfort keepers staffer can cook the meals. If after these adjustments we find Mimi is unhappy or the needs are not being met, we will have to look at other tweaks and other options . We just want her to be both healthy and happy and get best care her finances can afford , with no one taking advantage of her or manipulating her to buy them things or loan them money or getting her to fill up their car at her expense .
