Lynch took 5 years to make Eraserhead, half way through He ran out of money. His dad and brother convinced him to get a job because he had kids to be responsible for. He decided to work as a delivery guy for Wall-street journal for 50$ a day to save up for his film to get it done scene by scene. It was the hardest period of his life as he thought he was stuck and life just passed him by. But when it all done, Not only life hadnt passed him by but also Eraserhead become one of Stanley Kubricks favorites. That moment he knows from Kubrick himself Lynch could die happily.
