MANAAs next General Meeting is Thursday, June 19th starting at 7:30 PM. Please join us in discussing how to improve media depictions of Asian Americans. Agenda items include: • Reactions to the pre-screening of ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat,” the first Asian American sitcom in 20 years since “All American Girl” starring Margaret Cho. • MANAA calls out a TMZ staffer saying that Asians can’t drive because of genetics. • Annual NBC meeting: Telling them they’ve now fallen from best to worst network as far as number of Asian American regulars is concerned • Remembering legendary “American Top 40” disc jockey Casey Kasem, who supported MANAA over the years by coming to press conferences and protests. Comedian Paul Kim is offering complimentary tickets to friends of MANAA for his performance at the Laugh Factory Friday June 27th at 8 p.m.(regular tickets are $20, $30 VIP).
