MANGO trees -in a decade the area increased by > 50% in our country ! Thanks to scientists at Indian Ag Research Inst who produced 2 optimal cross breeds from Dusseri &Neelam named them as AMRAPALI & MALLIKA !HOW ? Science and govt policy since 2005 -Horticultural Mission : > Rs 8000 have been spent in 8 yrs ! Railways have vast land on either side of track all over the country ! NOW ? public latrine/dumping ground for garbage etc ! Can any passenger in any train open a window of atrain to look out! I DOUBT ! I suggest that coop societies be formed of rural youth living nearby and give all help to them to take up horticultural activities .2 birds at one shot ! Reduction in pollution and increase in employment potential of rural youth !
