MANILA, Philippines—It’s a girl. Her court-ordered hospital confinement came in the nick of time. Hours after political prisoner Andrea Rosal, daughter of the late communist party spokesperson “Ka Roger” Rosal, was admitted to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), she gave birth prematurely to a girl at 8 a.m. Saturday. According to Rosal’s lawyer, Edre Olalia, the baby, to be named Diona Andrea, was immediately placed in an incubator. As of noon Saturday, her mother had not seen her.
