MARCH PRAYER GUIDE MARCH 19 – READ EPHESIANS 2:6-10. Allow me to put this in the vernacular: God is doing stuff in and for us so that He can do stuff through us. Good stuff. God’s handiwork kind of stuff. God prepared stuff. And note these aren’t works to earn something from God but are rewards that come with being alive in Him. Sometimes I think we get the idea that being in Him, seated with Him, living in heaven on earth, receiving grace from Him is designed to be provide an exemption from the brokenness and messiness of the world. Quite the contrary – it is rather the freedom to enter it fully without fear. Without despair. Without self-seeking and without the drive for self-preservation. In Christ we are alive! And our life in Him is eternal. So pain, suffering, sacrifice, hardship, willing and joyful service, putting others first, courage to be faithful & honest & loving & forgiving, etc., is how we live and who we are and what enables us to ‘do good works prepared for us in advance to do.’ Pray about that today.
