ME EXPLAINING TO A LADY HOW A HONDA MOTOR WORKS partially Throttle body opens by gas pedal lets air in a map sensor reads how much air and give it the right mixture of gas then both air and gas get pulled into the firing chamber by pistons that make compression (vacuum) pulls the gas and air in during so the intake valves open let both air and gas in then close pistons comes up to compress sparkplug sparks ignigting the gas which forces the piston down and the exhaust valves open releasing the exhaust out the exhaust valves haha and the valves open from the cams that have lobs which push the valves open and closed at certain times
