.MEDIA ADVISORY: Complaint filed against Baltimore County Animal Shelter A team of Covington lawyers filed a complaint on behalf of three Baltimore County residents against the Baltimore County Animal Shelter (BCAS) for allegedly failing to meet the basic needs of animals in its care. In the complaint filed on December 30, the plaintiffs allege that BCAS routinely failed to provide basic necessities to animals placed in its care, including wholesome food, potable water, a healthy and clean living environment, exercise, and basic veterinary care. The plaintiffs also allege that BCAS routinely fails to abide by many other requirements set forth by the Baltimore County Code, including provisions which require BCAS to make reasonable efforts to contact the owners of impounded animals and, where necessary, to provide for their sterilization and humane euthanasia. The Covington team , which is representing the plaintiffs on a pro bono basis, is led by Kevin Collins and Michael Kennedy and includes Bryant Lee and Kamila Lis.
