MEET MAINA SOKO ! If you are from one of the Southern African nations, you need to know Maina Soko. Because she was a selfless lady who gave herself duty to catch or source for fish, just for the various Southern African freedom fighters to have a meal. She fed as many as she could. In those days, the White governed South Africa and Northern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) would bomb Zambia in trying to scatter the various freedom fighters like the ANC, PAC, ZANU, ZAPU, SWAPO etc … sadly, Maina Soko died during those bombings. Hence, Zambia’s Maina Soko military hospital in Lusaka is named in her honour. REST IN PEACE MAIN SOKO !
