MESC 2014: Domenique – Take Me As I Am Song: A very - TopicsExpress

MESC 2014: Domenique – Take Me As I Am Song: A very typical Eurovision song heard many times during the contest. It has elements of this year’s winner Rise Like A Phoenix in the very very beginning then changes to a more upbeat melody resembling that of Sweden’s Undo. It feels like it was originally written as a ballad but to ensure that it makes it through they decided to throw in that ‘dance vibe’ giving the song a different feeling. The way the chorus is sung resembles another song but at this point I cant remember which one. The music is a jumble of too many genres put together which I dont particularly like causing confusion as to what to appreciate from it all. The music and the lyrics dont really go together putting this song in the trying too hard category. I dont feel that it’s a song the audience will remember. Singer: She has a beautiful voice and one appreciates the training she has done to get to where she is. Very controlled voice and powerful where needed. Overall though I think it is the wrong song choice for her. Appearance: No, No and No. The make-up is way too strong, she doesnt need it and something weird is going on with her hair. The outfit doesnt really match the song itself. She should have opted for something better suited for her age; fresh and fun especially since the song gives off that party vibe. I dont get why whoever styled her did in that way. https://youtube/watch?v=5u9DzyLulXo&index=1&list=UUhlf9r1rzhJ_SVM_WCKFL1g
