MISSION BOHOL Team Bohol Gathering We arrived in Cebu this morning at 0830 hrs after an early flight out of Manila this morning. Our host, Ruth, met us at the airport but before we came to Visayas Nazarene Bible College where we would lodge temporarily, we joined a Nazarene church in Mactan Island for Sunday service. The quick power nap on a soft bed did wonders. I hadnt had that opportunity since about 36 hours ago. In and hour and a half, we expect Nick and Chad to join us from their brief holiday in Bali. Jane, Devie, Rizal and Robert will join us later tonight as they fly in from Davao City. I was unnerved earlier as I started writing this post. All eyes are on Leyte and Samar after the killer typhoon hit the rest of Visayas, effectively bringing all attention to the devastation of the level 4 typhoon from the magnitude 7.2 typhoon. I was worried that I may sound passé when I was posting on Bohol while all eyes and hands were elsewhere. It wasnt hard to decide on this as I realized. ECare wasnt going to play up to the attention of other people but rather, ECare would be attending to the needs of the survivors in Bohol. Tomorrow, Monday, the team will be going over the initial plans, consult with the partners on the ground and set the team objectives on the ground. Team Bohol of ECare will be posting regularly to let you know about progress on the ground. We reaffirm our commitment to meet the needs of the families in Sandingan Island in Bohol. We are privileged to carry your trust and partnership as we serve the survivors of the magnitude 7.2 earthquake, an earthquake that unleashed the power and destructive fury of 6 nuclear bombs on the hapless Boholanos. Let us serve the survivors. Mabuhay!
