MISSION COMPLETE! As cases of the Ebola Virus dropped in Lofa County,( the former Epic center of the Ebola Virus in Liberia ) to its lowest ever since the July 15,2014 with only 15 patients left at the treatment center in Foya, the Arm Forces of Liberia (AFL)which was brought in the county to help implement the border closures and to protect health worker today started reducing its present in the county. I paid a visit at the Soloba border post that separates Guinea and Liberia from the Foya region in Liberia and Gaygaydu town in Guinea where a group of AFL soldiers along with others securities were stationed to grade the AFL as they depart the town of Soloba. It was a sad moment amongst locals as the troop packed to leave after spending just seven weeks leaving behind new friends and the cordial relationship that the soldier has built between them and the locals in the border town soloba. As one early man (An old soldier from 1975 to 1991) said to me that he hopes the professionalism shown by these young soldiers will continue as they serve their country. During my visit and interview of locals, not a single person could tell me anything negative about the soldiers expect for the young men who felt relief that those young soldiers with the cash were leaving their town leaving behind those young girls who nearly left their fiancé or boyfriends. I could see young girls exchanging cell phone numbers in tears with the hope of communicating that could one day lead to meeting again. Since the arrival of the AFL in Lofa County, there has never being any report of an attack on Health Workers as it were before their arrival some 7 weeks ago. In my mind, I believe whenever Health Workers were escorted by AFL soldiers, would be troublemakers had some second thought of taking the risk to do business as usual by attacking Health Workers. In transit through Voinjama city en route to Monrovia, they were met by smiling crowds with thumb up in appreciation for mission were accomplished as you can see a group of soldier in photo with the Lofa County attorney Luther Sumo. Atty Sumo thanked the soldiers and wish them well and safe journey back to base. There’s still a badge of AFL soldier stationed in Voinjama city. BRAVO AFL FOR JOB WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember: WE ARE FIGHTING TOGETHER
