MLA Langate and President Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) has expressed his deep concern over the mysterious fire incident that took place in the premises of Civil secretariat in which one official complex where many important offices were functioning got completely destroyed and the complex was dashed to earth. In a press statement after visiting the damaged site today he said that though such incidents can occur any place any time but the way of dealing with the situation by the administration has not only raised several serious questions regarding its efficiency to deal with such odd situations but also exposed the system for its failure in responding as desired by the situation. He said, though fire and emergency services department did utilize its all machinery and manpower to control the fire but lack of modern equipments made their efforts to go in waste. Besides the cause of incident to be deeply investigated. He said, a conspiracy to bury some important official records cannot be ruled out by those miscreant elements in the administration who can go to any extent and do any damn thing for their vested interests. Engineer Rashid Said that by announcing a holiday for the secretariat offices, state govt. has proved that it cannot deal with some minor extra ordinary situation and there is a lack of coordination between the various forces and organs in the govt. The least what govt. should have done would have been to cordon the incident site and prohibit common people from assembling near the said spot. The act has not only resulted in hampering of work of the civil secretariat but also exposed the efficiency of VVIP’s including Baboo’s and Mantaries to deal with the situation and has forced people from all corners of the state empty handed who had came for the healing of their grievances in the civil secretariat where they otherwise do often get empty handed as a result of cool response and poor governance.
