MODERATE FLOOD WARNING FOR THE CONNORS, ISAAC, DON AND FITZROY RIVERS Issued at 10:01 pm EST on Friday 31 January 2014 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Issue Number: 3 Heavy rainfall between 100-200mm was recorded overnight Thursday across Prospect and Funnel Creeks and the upper reaches of the Connors River, causing river level rises and moderate flood levels at Mt Bridget and at Cardowan. Heavy rainfall up to 145mm has been recorded across the Capricornia coastal areas since 9am Friday, which is producing river rises along the lower reaches of the Fitzroy River downstream from The Gap through to Rockhampton, and in the Waterpark Creek area. Connors-Isaac Rivers: River levels rises and moderate flooding is expected downstream along the Connors River between Pink Lagoon and Yatton during the weekend. Minor flood levels are expected at Yatton during Saturday evening, with further rises to the moderate flood level possible during Sunday. Don River: River level rises are expected with the heavy rainfall overnight Friday across the Don and Dee River catchments, where minor to moderate flooding is possible. Fitzroy River: River rises are expected overnight along the lower Fitzroy River from local runoff. As the heavy rainfall continues during Friday evening, further rises and minor flooding is possible overnight Friday and into Saturday. Predicted River Heights/Flows: Yatton: Minor flood levels developing Saturday night with further rises and moderate flood levels possible. Yaamba: River rises overnight Friday are likely to remain below minor (9.0 metres). However higher levels and minor flooding is possible with further heavy rainfall. Rockhampton: River rises overnight Friday likely to remain below minor (7.0 metres). Remember: If its flooded, forget it.
