MONDAY BIBLE STUDY: FILLING GODS STOREHOUSE In todays study I was reading the book of Ruth and it mentioned that Naomi , her husband , and 2 sons were from Bethlehem Judah. In that story it mentions that they left Judah and moved to Moab because of the famine. In Moab, Naomi lost her husband and 2 sons who married 2 Moabite women name of Ruth and Orpah. To take you back to a previous Bible Study we learned that Lot daughters slept with him and had 2 sons out of the incest named Moab and Ammon. The older girl’s baby was named Moab; he became the ancestor of the nation of the Moabites. (Gen 19:37) Lets break down the names in this bible study that deal with the topics. Bethlehem: House of Meats Judah: Praise Moab: Seed of the Father Ruth: Drunk , Satisfied Naomi: My Joy, My Bliss, Pleasantness of Jehovah Orpah: Neck, Skull, Stiffnecked Elimelech: My God is King Mahlon: Sickness Chilion: Finished, Complete, Perfect Lets put them in order, Bethleham , Judah, Moab, Elimelech, Naomi, Mahlon,Ruth, Chilion, Orpah. This is the message I got from the names in the story in sentence form! “The House of Meats” should be filled with “Praise”, the “Seed of The Father”. “My God is King”. “My Joy ,My Bliss , the Pleasantness of Jehovah”. Instead of “Sickness”, be “Drunk and Satisfied” with HIM. “Finished ,Complete, and Perfect” not “Stiffnecked”! Side Note: This goes hand in hand with Malachi 3:6-11 6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. 7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. Now in the story of Ruth, they left a famine in their homeland to enter a land that looked like it was thriving. They left the City of Praise to dwell in a City of Seeds. I will say it like this; They left Praise and concentrated on the Money. Left the Spiritual for the Material. Where am I going with this? Lets dig a little deeper into the touchy subject of “Tithes”. Now A Tithe is a “tenth” of something. In Genesis Abraham gave a tithe to Mechizedek. (Gen. 7:2 ) To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Now, tithe by definition means: one tenth of annual produce or earnings, formerly taken as a tax for the support of the church and clergy. A Tax and Tithing are a form of “TRIBUTE”. Tribute by definition : A tribute is wealth that one party gives to another as a sign of respect, submission, or allegiance. Now the word PRAISE by definition: Express warm approval or admiration of. synonyms: commend, express admiration for, applaud, pay tribute to, speak highly of, eulogize, compliment, congratulate, sing the praises of, rave about, go into raptures about, heap praise on, wax lyrical about, make much of, pat on the back, take ones hat off to, lionize, admire, hail, ballyhoo; formallaud Notice anything in the synonyms? How about “Pay Tribute To”. Let go to the scriptures for support. Luke 2:1-5 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. Matthew 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? Matthew 22:20-21 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21 They say unto him, Caesars. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesars; and unto God the things that are Gods. Romans 13:7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Fathers name written in their foreheads. Judges 3:12-2312 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord strengthened Eglon king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord. 13 Then he gathered to himself the people of Ammon and Amalek, went and defeated Israel, and took possession of the City of Palms. 14 So the children of Israel served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years. 15 But when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. By him the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab. 16 Now Ehud made himself a dagger (it was double-edged and a cubit in length) and fastened it under his clothes on his right thigh. 17 So he brought the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. (Now Eglon was a very fat man.) 18 And when he had finished presenting the tribute, he sent away the people who had carried the tribute. 19 But he himself turned back from the stone images that were at Gilgal, and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” He said, “Keep silence!” And all who attended him went out from him. 20 So Ehud came to him (now he was sitting upstairs in his cool private chamber). Then Ehud said, “I have a message from God for you.” So he arose from his seat. 21 Then Ehud reached with his left hand, took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly. 22 Even the hilt went in after the blade, and the fat closed over the blade, for he did not draw the dagger out of his belly; and his entrails came out. 23 Then Ehud went out through the porch and shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them. The Nail in The Coffin Question: Why would God raise up Ehud, called a deliverer, take the children of Israel “Tribute/Tithe” , pay the tribute and then kill the “FAT” king as a message from God? The summary has always been this in my heart…. We are not paying proper tribute to God. The coin God requires is inscribed with His name on their foreheads. We are the clay coins with our KINGS image impressed in the dust of the earth. Jesus said it best when He asked who’s image is on the coin. Render unto God what is Gods! You see the sins that Israel repeatedly commited was this in Judges 3:5-8 Thus the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons; and they served their gods. 7 So the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. They forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and Asherahs.[a] 8 Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years. Just like Israel , the church has left God and serves the system (god) of this world, filling the Storehouse with a processed meat like the unhealthy meats that are sold in todays markets being consumed by us on a daily basis. They look legit but are filled with all types of toxin, harmful chemicals, and man made fillers! The Meat God requires in His storehouse is a WORTHY PRAISE from his people! 2 Chronicles 5:13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; Jeremiah 33:11 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, saying, Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before, says the LORD. Here is a closer clue to the REAL STOREHOUSE of God! The TEMPLE of GOD… Remember the song “Lord Im Available To You”? The chorus says.. “My Storage is empty, and I am available to you”. God wants a surrendered vessel to fill with treasures from on high. The people should be filled with PRAISE and it should come out daily as a tribute to God! A tenth of your life, a tenth of your day. God just wants you to at least think about Him a tenth of the time if not all the time! How else can you work up to keeping the first commandment? Teaching and performing Praise and worship is at a minimum in churches today but tithe and offerings and prosperity sermons are what most churches are built upon now a days! Don’t be like King Eglon, getting FAT off the Tribute you are stealing from GOD! God will kill you! in closing Hebrew 10:5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; God prepared us a body to give US back to him! The Body of the Church belongs to God! Let return back to Him! Give honor to whom Honor is truly DUE! Be Blessed brothers and sisters!
