MONDAY FORECAST DISCUSSION: Welcome to Monday everyone. A trough of low pressure will keep plenty of clouds in our skies for the next few days, but those clouds will not prevent a bit of a warming trend. Highs on Sunday reached the low 50s and today will be 5 to 10 degrees warmer than that. Another strong cold front is crossing the upper Mid-west today and it will arrive here late Wednesday. Ahead of the front, Tuesday will likely be the best day of the week. Once again, there will be plenty of clouds but umbrellas can be left at home. Highs on Tuesday afternoon will be well into the 60s with some locations getting close to 70 - especially South and West of the DC Metro. The cold front, and rain chances, arrive Wednesday. Rain is likely to start just after the AM commute with temperatures near 50. The rain will increase, and could be heavy at times, in the afternoon and evening with temperatures reaching the low 60s. The colder air will race in during the overnight hours and may change some of the rain over to a rain-snow mix by sunrise. No accumulations of snow are expected. Thursday will be a terribly cold and windy day. Afternoon highs will stay in the 30s with wind chills in the teens and 20s! Thankfully, March cold snaps dont tend to last too long. By the weekend things will be back close to average. Have a great week. MONDAY: Partly To Mostly Cloudy A Bit Warmer Light Breeze Wind: Southwest 5-10 mph HIGHS: 55° - 62° MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly Cloudy Not As Cold Light Wind Wind: West 4-8 mph LOWS: 39° - 45° TUESDAY: Mostly Cloudy Dry Mild Wind: South 5 mph HIGHS: 63°- 69°
