#MSwx - Happy Friday Mississippi! If you live in our northernmost or westernmost communities, you might grab the umbrella before you head out the door this morning. Well see a few light, isolated showers this morning before clearing back out this afternoon to partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs with a strong southerly breeze will rise quickly into the mid to upper-60s across the area this afternoon. The clouds will stick around throughout the overnight, as well as the southerly breeze, and both will help to keep overnight lows in the mid to upper-40s. If youre heading out tomorrow, most of our day in Central Mississippi will be pretty nice and mild with highs back in the low-70s with breezy conditions, but if youre planning on heading to either the Ole Miss game in Fayetteville, AR or the Mississippi State game in Starkville, you should definitely pack the rain gear. You can expect on and off storms all Saturday long at Razorback Stadium, so be prepared with a poncho and possibly an extra pair of socks and shoes. Weather will be nice through the early afternoon in Starkville, but showers and storms could push through by game time or by the time the game is almost over. Back here in Jackson, our best chance for rain will pull in right around or just after midnight Saturday with strong storms and heavy rain throughout the overnight hours Sunday. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging winds and heavy rain being the primary threats. The tornado threat will be limited, but its recommended that you keep the weather radios handy, just to be safe.
