MUTEK Montreal and ELEKTRA Festival darts numériques have teamed up to present an international audiovisual creation contest, inspired by a theme: The Crystal Interface. According to MUTEK and Elektra (collectively known as EM15, after both entities joined forces to present the 15th anniversary editions of their respective festivals together this year), Touching on physics, geology, biology, geometry, spirituality, philosophy and aesthetics, as a concept, crystal offers a multitude of expressive and creative possibilities for both sound and visual. Finalists will have their pieces broadcast on the EM15 website and at the Musée dart contemporain de Montréal. The winner will receive a copy of #Live9, among other prizes. Eligibility requirements: by May 11th, participants between the ages of 18-30 must submit a piece no longer than 3 minutes in length.
