MUTHARIKA TRIMS BEN PHIRI TO SIZE, ACCUSES HIM OF GROWING TOO POWERFUL The once rosy relationship between President Peter Mutharika and his personal aide, Ben Phiri, has taken a turn for the worse as plans are almost ripe to move him out of State House. Impeccable sources at State House say several ministers including the Vice President have complained to Mutharika on how Phiri seems to override their duties and freedoms when they want to meet the President. It is also believed that even the First Lady has noticed this anomaly and advised her husband to act without mercy on the little boy who had become probably the second most powerful man in the country. Weeks ago during Mutharikas visit to the United Nations, Phiri was dressed down by his boss in the presence of the Malawi delegation and he shed tears shamelessly in public. The President accused Phiri of abusing his office after it transpired that he had prevented some investors from booking an appointment with the First Citizen. Phiris powers are diminishing by day with the recent one being the withdrawal of security personnel from his Area 12 residence. His security detail was the same as that or the Vice President. We will update our readers on the next office that Ben Phiri will be given after State House.
