MY ALZHEIMER’S JUICE PLUS STORY (Dagmar Schneider) From 2003 to 2008 I cared for my mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. She was first diagnosed about 10 years prior but showing symptoms already in the late 1980’s. My mother and father were like Siamese twins. They did everything together and my father was able to fill in or correct her shortfalls. She allowed him to fill in the blanks, because they were shared memories. Then my father passed away and with that my mother lost her external brain. It became clear very quickly that the situation was much worse that we realized. When it became too dangerous for her to stay home alone we decided to have her move in with us. We built an addition to our home and to a degree reconstructed her apartment (what was in Germany). I don’t think that he was fully aware that she had moved, and she was happy. I had slowly taken her of the Alzheimer’s meds because they all seem to make matters worse. How can a physician prescribe pills that 100% mimic the symptoms of the condition present? Every time we started a new medication her symptoms got much worse. So, since my mother was otherwise completely healthy, I wanted to be sure I’m dealing with the symptoms of the disease and not the side effects of a pharmaceutical drug. The progression of the illness was gradual but manageable until the beginning of 2003. One day she just started sleeping a whole lot and was mostly mentally not present. It was Easter and I called my sister in Germany and told her that I fear that she will not make it through the weekend. In the morning, while cleaning her I found a pressure point on her hip and was horrified. I did not want to deal with a bed sore! Not on my watch! I consulted the Internet for latest treatment or preventive options and found that the best in prevention was exercise and nutrition. By that time Exercise was not an option anymore and she had stopped eating. She did allow me to give her fluids though. I was wondering if she would sip Juice Plus Complete and mixed one for her. It worked! At this point, when she had not moved in weeks, not talked in month and basically just had a heartbeat, I started feeding her Juice Plus Complete. I mixed it with milk, opened all the capsules and added the powder, 1 egg, some oats, cinnamon and some fruit of the day. I fed her that drink 3 times per day. Monday morning I called a funeral home to find out how and what needs to be done once she passes. We had a baby monitor with video screen installed to make sure we see her all the time and while talking on the phone I suddenly see her moving. I hung up because here she was trying to remove blankets and get up!!! When I entered the room, she looked at me with clear eyes, and told me that she had a wonderful NAP!!! I was shocked, I didn’t know how to respond after weeks of silence and sleep. I slowed her down and after sitting on the sofa for a few minutes she informed me that she had to use the bathroom – she had not done that in several months. Both eliminations functioned perfectly. She wanted to get up and I was worried she would collapse. So I hugged her from behind and we started walking and singing (she suddenly knew the lyrics). That afternoon my husband came home expecting the worse. I told him to go see her. When he entered her room she looked at him, smiled and said Hi Tom, how was work? She didn’t know who Tom was in probably 8 month! All of that was after only 3 full days of massive amounts of Juice Plus+! Of course I didn’t miraculously cured her from Alzheimer’s disease, but she got another 8.5 month of life after that. I started wondering at the time what would have happened to her if she had started JP+ in the very beginning of her illness. Maybe she would have never gotten that bad at all. I think this is most certainly worth exploration. We have seen many other improvements of health conditions considered terminal or un-curable. Why not Alzheimer’s? We know that Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia are preventable and should see if Juice Plus can make a difference in this epidemic proportioned disease. I learned, in the time taking care of my mother, you can lose a leg or eye sight, hearing or even a kidney – you still can conduct life and compensate with the help of machinery and equipment. But if the mind is gone, nothing else matters!
