MY JOURNEY I was ambled down an alien track. I did not recognise - TopicsExpress

MY JOURNEY I was ambled down an alien track. I did not recognise the trees. I hoped I would find my way back. I looked for landmarks, which would ease My safe return to my own bed, All things were not what they first seemed, The atmosphere filled me with dread I thought of, times when I had dreamed. A stranger, strolling down the road, Grey and haggard, older than me, His arms were thin his knees were bowed. He spoke to me so earnestly. “You don’t know me but I know you. In later years you’ll realise, The years have passed, some twenty two, Your older self, before your eyes” He spoke to me about my life. Success and failure comes my way. A time when I would deal with strife, Some would remain until his day. There would be tragedy to face. Nobody there to sing my praise. Perhaps a small touch of disgrace. But also a few happy days. He disappeared and I felt strange. Was this a dream which gave no joy? A youngster came into my range. I thought that I had known this boy. “I don’t know you but you know me” He said with quite a solemn air. “We have a common history. I made poor choices, didn’t care. They made our life a misery.” I turned to walk the other way To find out how my life would end. My fate was sealed I had no say. I might learn what the fates intend. The path I’d trod had disappeared. The landscape was obscured by rain. The next event was, as I’d feared, I found myself awake again.
