MY OPINION ON NASARAWA DIRTY POLITICS, POLITICS OF BLOODBATH Not Yet Uhuru For The Quest To Produce Eggon Governorship Candidate The unfolding event from the recent press conference organized by Eggon Stakeholders endorsing Solomon Ewuga as the sole candidate under the banner of the PDP to vie for governorship and the declaration of Chris Mamman,The National president of Eggon Cultural Development Association (ECDA) is a body language that the second majority tribe in Nasarawa state is divided amongst itself. The question that remained unanswered is the immediate past national president of ECDA was endorsed by who?, The stakeholders or the PDP ?,We should for the sack of God shun ethnic or religion politics before that MONDAY HAMMER strike on you people. Again Alagos numbering 4-5 of them were killed in a sporadic gun shot ,Those killed by Eggon gunmen include MOYI of Agwatashi,Which kind of politics is this ?Is high time we embrace one another and leave peacefully for the progress of the state, NASARAWA STATE BELONG TO ALL OF US,AND WE SHOULD REMEMBER THAT NO TRIBE HAVE THE MONOPOLY OF VIOLENCE. Is not yet your time because the governorship ambition of Eggonss is purely unprepared ambition to governed the home of solid mineral by 2015,MANY PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN THE NAME OF A FETISH gOD EVEN WHEN YOU ARE POWER DRUNK WHAT OF IF AN EGGON IS ELECTED GOVERNOR OF NASARAWA STATE ,WILL THE KILLINGS STOP ?.Is a time bomb in Nasarawa state as people turn against people? Is not yet uhuru for the Eggons to actualized their quest to produce a governor in 2015,The intervention of the stakeholders led by Hon.Dogara Angbo has open a new chapter in the polity of Eggon nation that internal squabbles may truncate their chance at the shendam road govt House . As the ad-hoc chairman on the selection of Eggon governorship come 2015 we will disgrace Labaran Maku in the publicsaid Angbo,If Angbo can disgrace Labaran Maku in the public what about Chris Mamman ? In a Press conference, Hon Dogara said Eggon elders has endorse Solomon Ewuga under the platform of the PDP as their sole candidate and Mathew Ombugaku as governorship contender of the APGA and James Angbazo as APC candidate. The elders forum also foist Labaran Maku to stay in Abuja to represent the entire population of 1.8m people instead of vying for governorship position, The unfolding scenario send bad signal to the politics of the state especially to the Eggons and other minority tribes . The Eggons said that the remain the majority group in the state but their large number did not work for them, There is the need for Eggons to inculcate the Idoma people of Benue state ,Right from the reign of General IBB when he held sway as the first military head of state the Tivs are still ruling as elected governor (s) and nobody is complaining. Some leaders of the group said they had elect Afo,Alago and Gwandara as governors but their turn and chances was thwarted with,Is also our time the Alagos because Akwe Doma only spend single term of four years remaining another four years for the Alagos according to PDP arrangement. Governor Al-Makura is from Nasarawa South but under different political party,This arrangement has nothing to do with Akwes case,Not Agabi,Jibrin Bala Yakubu will continue with the tenure of Doma,The old man should be supported to finish his term of office before power move to the North. The calculation of Hon Dogara Angbo is faulty and lacks substance, When will Aki,one of the minority tribe in the state produce a governor ? What about Migili ?,Gbagyi,Jukun,Fulani,Tivs,Agatu,Mada,Hausawa,Bassa,Igbira,Bom,Rindre et al ?. Two Eggons, Maku and Ewuga were appointed ministers, two Hausa-Fulanis,Dr.Hassan Lawal and Hussaini Akwanga and One Alago,Musa Elayo represent the state. From 1999 to date Two Eggons,Maku and Ewuga were deputy governors, two Madas,Dameshi Luka and Micheal Abdul and one Rindre,Professor Onje Gye-wado as deputy governors respectively, If we are patient tomorrow it might be your turn. Who is shouting of marginalization, In Nasarawa North,an Eggon man was a senator, an Eggon man a House of Representative member and Minister from the same Local Govt, tribe and one religion nobody is lamenting. Those tribes that were attack in Ana ,Burum-burum in Doma L.G and their monarch burn beyond recognition while scores went on exile while others still remain refugees in their fatherland ,will they vote Ewuga, an Eggon man ? . The Gwandara speaking people of Iggah in Nasarawa Eggon those whose toddlers (male children below 4 yrs butchered, houses burn and farmland produce destroyed vote an Eggon man ? . Will Gwandara from Kwandare,Alago from Obi ,Migili from Jenkwe vote an Eggon man that killed and burn down their abode and looted their valuables vote Eggon man. Will the family members of the late monarch of Gidan Rai forget so soon when the monarch and his sister were locked in a room and the house set ablaze?. When will the people of Tudun Adubu,Daddere forget so soon the destruction meted on them by men of the underworld. When will the people of Assakio forget the first, second and third attack on their community, houses were destroyed intermittently in the name of deadly portion ,How soon will the family of the 104 security agents forget the coordinated attack while on official duty ?. When will the family members of the over 20,000 killed in Ombatse crisis forget the incident?. Effect of the lingering skirmishes is 1.Gave the state bad publicity 2. paralyzed socio-economic activities of the state 3.carry-over grievances between the warring communities 4.Lost of confidence by the diverse ethnic groups 5. Money meant for the execution of projects were diverted to security barely four years in office. 6. Division among the people of the state Solution The state government should stop playing politics with people’s lives, If not why delaying the prosecution of those indicted by the Judicial Commission of Inquiry? Even at this point Akunza-Obi-Awe road is a Bermuda triangle presently, The militant should be punished now and then. We have to ensure that peace reign in Nasarawa state Gun fight or the power of vodo is not the end solution to our problem.
