MY REFUGE In this life of trouble, many try and seek refreshment in the form of friendship, music, entertainment, food, travelling, shopping in order to forget the storms outside. But this can only bring temporary relief. As members of the household of faith, you can say along with T.B. Joshua, “I have no other refuge than this command of Jesus: “Only believe” (Mark 9:23). Faith is a heart that believes God in every circumstance. The only way to feel good about yourself is to believe and accept what Jesus has done for you. He died for you, He reigns in power for you and He is still praying for you. What keeps us from despairing is not what we see but what we believe. Some human plan or your mind may come between you and God’s Word but rest upon what God says, for when we truly believe, our hearts will be at rest in the midst of the storm – rest that nothing can destroy (Mark 5:36).
