====MY SELECTIONS FOR RACING ON SUNDAY======== =============================================== Looking to get back on track today after a poor day yesterday, some pretty decent racing on today and after missing all the racing yesterday i am looking forward to a day of rest and catching up with all i missed.. remember these are just `MY OPINIONS` on the racing today, NOT CERTS or GOOD THINGS as yesterday proved.. ============================================== ============================== 3.20 Downpatrick.. SARABAD 10/1 e/w ============================== Noted when with Willie Mullins, i thought this one would make up into a decent but was switched yards before it had a decent chance to do so, the switch has yielded some improvement though and i feel this one has more to come, winning well over fences on just its 2nd start over fences, this one ran flat at Perth on its next run when looking to be in with every chance, i quickly drew a line through the run and i put this one up at Galway the last day but this one fell before having a chance to get involved, still going well at the time could be the reason this one is turned out quickly again reverting back to hurdles where its mark is a little lower than fences could be the answer, but it could just be a confidence booster before going chasing again, money for this one would be interesting though in my opinion.. ============================================ ================================== 4.05 Curragh.. DICK WHITTINGTON 12/1 e/w ================================== Noted on debut, this one took the eye as a very good looking colt and i was visually impressed before this one went on track, this one ran a good race on debut and one that could be anything in my book and i certainly thought of this one being a Group horse in time after that run, this one was given a nice intro to racing and looked sure to improve as the season went on, this one has won twice since noting and has improved with racing as hoped, today will be the true acid test for this one contesting a Group 1, but i feel this one is up to the task after its good win in a Group 3 the last day over C&D and worth a try at this level with a likely strong pace likely to suit.. ============================================= ========================== 4.30 Leicester.. ARGOT 14/1 e/w ========================== Noted a few runs back and one who will be having its last chance to shine today, this one looked a nice sort when noting and one i felt would be winning a handicap very soon, i am hoping a return to the track where noted as in need of the run and perhaps a step up in trip would see the one to good effect, so far it has not gone to plan but the 1mile trip looks sure to suit well and a horse who has ability of that i am sure but it is just trying to get the best out of this one, it has slid in the rating too by 6lbs since noting, horses for courses i hope! as this one ran a race full of promise here in April, also a little rain may aid this ones cause too.. ============================================ ========================= 4.45 Windsor.. MABAIT 10/1 e/w ========================= Noted last term, and one who is of interest again now that its mark has slipped back to a competitive one being 4lbs lower than its last win, this is its time of year that this one gets going and this one shaped well over 1m1f the last day and looked to be coming to hand again, Kieren Fallon taking over today is a positive pointer, this one will be held up off the pace but can travel into a race powerfully and hopefully will be doing some good late work at the finish.. ========================================== ============================= 5.35 Curragh.. ELUSIVE ICE 10/1 e/w ============================= Noted on its return to action, this one looked to have been given an easy time of it and was tenderly ridden in my opinion and one who looked in desperate need of the run that day and would come on a bundle for the outing too, i do not feel the going would have suited either, pivotal off spring often enjoy cut in the going so today`s going will see this one go better in my opinion and i feel this one is a fair bit better than its current mark of 66.. it well may need another run to hit full fitness and one to keep an eye on to see how it performs today.. ========================================= So here we are again, my opinions on the racing today... a day of relaxation and recouping before the week starts all over again.. one more week until the family holiday comes though! so something to look forward to soon.. Have a great day people and lets hope for a result today all being well.. MAY THE HORSE BE WITH YOU.. Mr P4V
