MY THOUGHTS ON BIG BROTHER ATM: A weekly task that works well is better than the risk of a task that fails. I assume this is the idea behind rehashing popular group tasks. In my season the Big Baby task didnt really work. It did have some great moments however it didnt seem to attract viewers, even inside the house I could tell this - it was too pantomime, it was a gamble. The pantomime moment this year was the introduction of the most recent intruder. It was something new, but it was too tacky to connect with, as a viewer it comes too far out of the box of the emotion you need to connect with the shows themes. Re-hashed ideas like House 2 and the Red and Blue teams which have been seen countless times around the world, always bring out the emotion in housemates that the producers cant resist. Last year Bens fake eviction worked a treat. It doesnt surprise me that we will see it again. In actual fact bringing Ben back in seems like a sequel to Tims return, (I was excited to see Tim Dormer back) but I dont think that worked. Poor Tim just seemed to be doing a bad impersonation of himself. The good thing about Ben Zabel is that he can only be himself. Which means we may see a successful re-entry of a past housemate. In all seriousness I like the housemates this year, they are different to anyone we have seen before which is what we want.. Do I wish sometimes they would stop looking at the cameras, relax a bit more and be themselves? YES! But they have a lot to live up too after the last two years. Maybe in 2012 and 2013 the gambles made by the Housemates are the reason the online trolls crucified them after the show. Maybe the new housemates are not really shaking the game or taking the risks because they know the online world is ready to crucify them if they step out of line - once they are evicted. But this is the theme of this post I will state this YOU ARE DAMNED IF YOU DO AND YOU ARE DAMED IF YOU DONT!
