MY TURN: No one is advocating for violence of destruction, BUT, - TopicsExpress

MY TURN: No one is advocating for violence of destruction, BUT, and it is a big BUT. It is ironic that those who ignored peaceful protest and who engaged in the worst form of violence (war) in Liberian history, and after attained state power have turned their backs on the very vices (injustice) that led to the civil war violence are today decrying the just demands and actions of tribal people whose land was unjustly stolen from under them in the name of investment. There are various forms of violence: the violence of economic injustice; the violence of impunity of not addressingror of sheilding those who brought the violence of war; the silent violence of refusing to adhere to the prosecution of war criminals as is legally required by the TRC Report, and equally so the equivalent which is the Ghana (Law) Peace Agreement which the United Nations Mission in Liberia highlighted last week in Monrovia; the economic injustice and violence of crafting 66 unlawful concession agreements out of a total of 68, thereby not holding to account those who promulgated these economic crimes that deprive Liberians from benefiting economically from their own natural resources. Injustice against the welfare of the interest of the greater citizenery is equally state instituted violence. These tribal land owners have been demand just compensation since 2010. How long more should they wait?.
