MY daughter Ariana and I are watching Zero Dark Thirty (12) at her request tonight -- I have spoken often about the film and the stunning performance of Jessica Chastain, who was simply brilliant in the film -- worried a little, as Ariana has a weak stomach for the tough stuff and I am not sure how she will handle the violence or torture scenes -- proud of her for wanting to see it though....to the eternal shame of the Academy that they did NOT nominate the great Kathryn Bigelow for Best Director for this searing film -- like The Grapes of Wrath (40) they will still be discussing this film in years to come. An American masterpiece.
