Macedonia Council to consider spending $50,000 to hire financial consultant at meeting tonight (live coverage) MACEDONIA, Ohio — Macedonia City Council will consider moving $50,000 into a fund that could be used to hire a financial consultant to cover for finance director Scott Svab and to conduct an investigation into Svab. Svab remains on paid leave after being escorted out of his office in Macedonia last week. The city’s law department revealed that documents related to non-city work was found on computer drives found in Svab’s office. Svab has said that the city’s law department seized his personal flash drives, which he used to save files from his home computer and another office in the city of Canal Fulton. During the pre-meeting workshop, council President Dave Engle asked Police Chief Jon Golden to request a sheriff’s department investigation into Mayor Don Kuchta’s use of taxpayer-funded snow plowing and garbage pick up services.
