Made it to Ames, Iowa without too much trouble. The scooters were on display at the Des Moines Airport, which I thought was kind of cool. Our airport shuttle ending up being the 515 Party Bus, which is filled with graffiti and even its own small disco ball. My shuttlemates were from Sarasota, Florida and Fort Hood, Texas and Plainfield, Vermont and other places I forgot, sorry! I highly appreciate how much effort KHOI has put into this weekend, even if there has been a lot of confusion. But I now have my weekend bicycle, which I have already heavily used and my indoor camping spot in a church basement across from the Ames Police Station. A detective came out to ask why I was taking photos of the police station, but when I explained I was from Syracuse he was like oh, cool!. Right now Im typing this sitting at Café Diem in Ames, which is an awesome, awesome place. Im not sure how they make it, but the black bean burger is the best Ive ever had, seriously. Seems to be a custom made square patty between a fresh square roll of some sort that was superb with some kind of dressing and greenage. This is definitely a college town, but these Iowa kids seem more wholesome than the ones back in Syracuse. They all look like they drink a lot of milk, lol.
