Madness, darkness and superlative performances is what one expects(and gets!) when Vishal Bhardwaj uses a Shakespearean base. Haider is poetic. Multitalented Vishals music & voice is as compelling as his direction. Cinematography is breathtaking; so much so, that at times, one can see details like the characters pupils darting in anger. The grave-diggers sequence is one of the many wonderful scenes to watch out for. Each actor is brilliant. Shahid, KK, Irrfan and specially Tabu shine like gems. The intriguing relationship between Shahids & Tabus character is what fascinated me the most; to the extent that it made me read a lot about the original play, its characters & its myriad intricate layers & depths.
