Making a positive difference. Admirable Sri Lankans, Nalin and Ayesha, left their established careers in England to return home to set up their dream venture of organic dairy farming and cheese-making and to give back to the country of their birth. They set up their organic dairy farm, Tamarind Gardens which also takes on staying guests, who would like to get a taste of Sri Lankan village life. Their project involves the local community which is otherwise heavily dependent on back-breaking dolomite mining. The farm is located in Aluthwatte, Digana and they sell their products in Colombo. My wife and other family members had the opportunity to visit recently.
