REASONS WHY MUTHARIKA AND CHILIMA MIGHT BE BANNED FROM CONTESTING Only a day before Peter Mutharika unveils Airtel Manager, Saulos Chilima, as his running mate in the May 20 polls, it has been revealed by state agents that the new kid on the block has for the past nine months been using Airtel data platform to spy government officials, sometimes including the Presidents calls. According to the report, which has been presented to government for legal action, Chilimas political ambitions with Peter Mutharika have been there for over a year now only that the corporate guru did not want to join politics upfront. Chilima, using his powers has recruited DPP youths into Airtel over the past months and it is this team that has been following what government officials discuss over the phone. With these new revelations, government wants to challenge that Mutharika and Chilima can only stand after the cloud on their lack of integrity is cleared. It is expected that government will file these charges any day next week after the DPP candidates present their nomination papers. However, Airtel officials say they will consult their lawyers to see how they proceed with Chilimas issue. Meanwhile, all the employees who are believed to be part of the clandestine move have been sent on forced leave pending investigations.
