Malawi President Peter Mutharika Leaves Friday For US-African Leaders Summit At The Invitation Of US President Barack Obama State House wishes to inform the Public that His Excellency the State President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will leave the country on Friday 1st August, 2014 for the United State of America for the US-African Leaders’ Summit scheduled for August 4-6, 2014 in Washington D.C. The plane carrying the State President will leave Kamuzu International Airport at around 16:00hours. The President will attend the important Summit at the invitation of US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.The Summit which will be attended by several other African Heads of State and government will focus on the theme ‘Investing in the Next Generation” and how the leaders can together sustain Africa’s transformation. During the summit His Excellency Professor Mutharika will among other things participate in a number of signature events which include; Resilience and Food Security in a Changing Climate as well as the US-Africa Business Forum.
