Man, KT has a lotta tiny letters to write to a lot of tiny little Sullustan and Bothan moms and dads, man. Would I do it all again? Hell yeah, man. It was great. No, it was great! Maybe even GREAT! But I dont want to be accused of overstating things as usual. That said, I had an awesome time today, with the best damn bunch of people you could wanna waste a beautiful summer Sunday trapped indoors with. Cant say enough wicked good things about everyone who came out to the games! The folks from Eastern Mass, especially! Not only did you brave the Commonwealths super awesome road system, but you were nothing like those people from Eastern Mass we read about in the papers or see on the TV! Not at all! You guys were great, and I hope you will make the trip again some day. Nic, Veronica and Trevor, it really was cool to meet you guys, and I hope you had a good time! I am definitely going to try to get more X-Wing events going! It was a pretty awesome turn out for the Last Minute X-Wing Tournament 2014. We had 11 players in total, which is really sweet. Hard fought battles with builds of every type represented. There was almost an even split between Rebel and Imperial factions which was a really nice surprise! Three rounds of X-Wing, and KT still didnt get a bye...anyway, here are the results: 1) Big ups to Rory Alexander-Farrel Madden McDonough (Imperials) for having so much win, he was able to secure victory, and proudly wear the badge that identifies him as among the best at toy spaceships! Awesome, man! And thanks for coming out! Though putting yourself in with that Imperial lot? Gravalicious Imps will not take you to the Promised Land, of that I can assure you. But congrats, and well played, man!!! Very cool! 2) Rorys victory was by no means a landslide. GGs Reigning champion, Jonah Zimmerman (Imperials), was only four battle points behind. A four point margin of victory? Epic! Another follower of the Dark Side, but a well deserved congrats just the same! Both Rory and Jonah won all three of their matches!! So cool! 3) Im not sayin theres a pattern here, but third place also went to the Imps - resident Imperial Agent Jody, who led his boys to overwhelming victories in his first two matches, but couldnt seal the deal against Jonahs TIEs. I got to play Jody today and it was a killer match! Thanks, man! 4) Coming in at fourth was our highest ranking Rebel player Jason Fair! Super stoked that Jason was top Reb! Congrats dude!! 5) Fifth place goes to Nic, another Rebel, and one of the folks who made a long trek to come out!! Super awesome, wish I could have played a game with you. In fact, it turns out I didnt have a match against any of you guys....hope theres a next time! 6) Boston (Rebels) took sixth. Which is hax somehow. But I got to play a game with him today, so thats awesome. Had a bunch of fun, I just didnt like Rebel on Rebel violence. Lets call it a training exercise....great game man!! 7) One-of-Three, Primary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero-Mike hammered home a seventh place finish. His first match apparently gave him the hate required of a Darkside-user to achieve victory, because he crushed in his second match. Awesomeness, if evilness. 8) Eighth went to Trevor and his Rebels. Trevor had a tough bracket, facing Rory, Jonah, and Nic. Wow. He fought against our 1st, 2nd, and 5th place finishers. Thats brutal. But when you look at the battle points he never went quietly. A crushing victory his first match, and some decent battle points in his next two. Awesome! Wish we could have played.......Thanks for coming out, man! 9) The Tankman!. Hells bells, man, hells bells. The Smartest Guys in the Room didnt do so hot, but you know, I still love them Bothans and Sullestans. Thats how KT rolled today, you know? Got me a match win, though. And I really enjoyed every game I played. So much win you cant lose! 10) Veronica came in tenth, again Im sorry we didnt get to play. Turns out I didnt get to match up with any of the folks from out East, and again, I hope theres a next time! 11) Fitz. I share the mans love for the TIE Advanced. I do. Im not really sure what else to say.....other than that I was so stoked Fitz came out to play!!! If that guy ever has Sundays off regularly, we WILL have THE BEST Sunday gaming group EVER! Ever. The difference between ordinary, and extraordinary is that little extra. And Fitz is that little extra. You know? Man, hope he can out for more OPs at least! Big ups Fitz!!!! Also want to thank Brian Dellascio for coming out and checking out the games and hangin for a bit! Hope you can come out for a match sometime soon! And also to the Neely posse for stopping by, hope to see you guys next Sunday, I know One-of-Three is aching for Attack Wing :) So thats about it. Epic day of X-Wing. Thanks to everyone for making it happen, to Fritz for holdin down the shop for the tourny, to Jay and the guys at Greenfield Games for supplying the OP kit, and for all the players who came out and made for a great day of Sunday X-Wing. The more people who come out, the more fun we seem to have, so lets keep the machine rolling. Open gaming next Sunday. Ill be bringing a build for both X-Wing and Attack Wing. I know One-of-Three is bringing the Attack Wing in full effect, so hope to see both games keep picking up steam! Good things are starting to gel. The Attack Wing OP kit and blind boosters should be in this week, fingers crossed. Mad stoked!!! And just so everybody knows Don Carlos is more original than KT could ever be, Ill leave you with this quote: Pass me the laser beam and mek me wipe out the wick them clean!!!! Bless up - Don Carlos. Just be original. Heres the last Two-Tone, then its back to roots. So what else but the Specials? Gangsters? Yeah.
