Man crushed by train in Budgam Rail Service suspended after protests Budgam, Nov 26, CNS: An allegedly mentally disable middle aged man was run over by a train in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday. The victim Muhammad Ramzan son of Abdul Salam resident of Galwanpora Safdan is said to have left home for a walk. His badly mangled body was found on the railway track near Safdan Budgam. Police after completing all the formalities handed over the body to the family. Meanwhile, hundreds of people assembled near Safdan railway track in Budgam who staged a massive protest against Railway Authorities. The protestors alleged that after no action is being taken against the Rail authorities after any accident. “Railway accidents are claiming human lives and live stock on daily or weekly basis. Stringent punishment should be awarded to Rail officials for their negligence,” one of the protestors told CNS. The eruption of massive protests forced Rail Authorities to suspended rail services in Central Kashmir for more than an hour. “We suspended the rail services for about an hour and the serive was restored after getting green signal from the Police,” Chief Controller Railways said.
