#NATIONALMIRROR ‘No one could’ve done better than Jonathan under prevailing circumstances’--- OLUOMO OLUWOLE OLUDAISI AINA. An aspirant for Osun Central Ssenatorial district seat in next year’s national assembly election, under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP banner, Chief Oludaisi Aina, yesterday rose in defence of President Goodluck Jonathan, saying “no living or dead Nigerian would have achieved as much as Mr President has done under the condition of contrived violence created for him.” Speaking during the continuation of his consultations with political and religious groups in Osogbo, Olorunda and Irepodun council areas of the state, Aina said the disclosure by the self-styled Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, that “opposition party” is working against the release of the Chibok girls, has further lent credence to the “fact that the insurgence being experienced in some parts of the North is contrived to derail the Jonathan Presidency.” He further alleged that the same opposition party has been castigating Jonathan and the PDP over the abduction of the girls, positing that Nigerians are coming to the realisation of how “desperate those that want leadership of the country are becoming.” Aina, who is chairman of National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike, averred that despite the security challenges, the structures for development the present administration is putting in place are enduring and predicted that with the intervention of the Federal Government in aviation, agriculture, defence and education sectors, the country will witness huge leap in terms of development in the next few years. He promised to build at least a vocational centre in each of the three federal constituencies in the senatorial district where youths and interested individuals can learn various vocations, if elected senator, adding that on completion, the trainees would be given necessary implements to start their businesses. On agriculture, Aina said he has already identified certain crops where the state has comparative advantage and listed cassava and maize as two crops that his agricultural programmes would focus on.
