Many county employees and other workers have Monday off, in recognition of Columbus Day. However, many communities have a different perspective toward the federal holiday. For example, the Seattle City Council recently voted to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day instead of Columbus Day -- in recognition of the rich history and cultures of Native Americans. Some also question the need to recognize Columbus Day -- when the European explorer never even set foot in North America. What do you think?
