Many good deeds done today with Elena and Cecilia. i) Began with correcting the English sign posted at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. It was an incredibly bad translation that gave no clues to the fact that only exhibition catalogues were sold at the entrance to the show. Took pity on them and did for free a new version that was clear and easy to understand. ii) Discovered an elderly man who was so drunk that he blacked out and probably banged his head on the sidewalk. (The glass of sake in his pocket remained unbroken.) He had no awareness that we were there for 5-10 minutes, so we persuaded the shop to call the authorities. Of course that is when the guy decided that he had to get up and go even though it took him another 5-10 minutes to stand up by himself. The police finally came after the guy left but kindly said that he would go looking for the guy and keep an eye on him, because the odds were that he would black out again very soon. iii) Helped some Chinese (?) tourists find the correct train platform. Saint Nicholas should be very kind to us this year!
