Many of my friends my age I am sure have or already going through - TopicsExpress

Many of my friends my age I am sure have or already going through what me and my siblings are right now. When the memories slowly fade away, the eyes grow dim, and the stares that one time held millions of thoughts that directed the pathway called my life, ( when I allowed it). Have now slowly truly are just what they are, blank stares. When the only decisions they make, or demand, is weather to bath, change clothing, throw anything away, or even eat. Decisions down to what items that must go with them, regardless of climate. Or to take the pills they need to get better. Thats my Mom, she is the sweetest most loving lady Ive ever known, but the new normal, for her, is very difficult on the ones that would just like to be held and spoken to as if we were six years old, to see the Moms that used to be. Selfish yes, but lets be truthful, who here wouldnt like turn back time even just a few mins from time to time. I have decided, life is what it is, not always fair or even just, but reality is, and I have to face the fact that they is nothing I can do, other than live in the present, and just make her smile when I can. No more insiteful conversations with a million questions on do you remember this, that, this time, that time, this town, that town, or this person. I just have to resign to the fact that she loved all of those at one time, and now there just memories I need to keep in my heart, to remind me of how things were, and the good times of years past. The Love that shines through her eyes when she sees me, is still the loving eyes That time holds no control over yet. So I say I moment by moment, second by second, my love and awareness marches to a shorter increment of time now, and God , I thank and Praise you for every second of that. Just hold her in your arms and know theres a few people who things shes almost as perfect as you. Thank you for my Mom, my hero.
