Many of you know that my youngest brother Khanhdied of complications from a heart attack. However, I was not aware of some startling statistics until now: Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Stroke is the third leading cause of death. This year about 1.2 million Americans will have a first or recurrent coronary attack. About 452,000 of these people will die. Each year about 700,000 people suffer a new or recurrent stroke in the United States. There are 5.7 million stroke survivors alive today, many with permanent stroke related disabilities. On November 1, 2014, I will join thousands of other individuals who will walk, and run 5k to support AHA. My goal will be to save a life of a father, mother, brother, sister, daughters or son from the heart disease and I have set a goal to help raise $3000 because I believe what we do makes a difference in someone life and it may be yours. I am joining the American Heart Association’s Walk to promote physical activity to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Imagine the impact if we could reduce death, obesity and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20% by 2020!!!! Will you join me and my team in this fight against Heart Disease?
