Many of you wonder why we are getting beat on the passing game and why Lovie isnt adjusting....well the answer is clear. We are now back to running the Cover 2 and most of the NFL has Cover 2 in their defensive schemes, but for us it is our base defense. Looking at the personnel we have on defense, the pieces just arent there. First our LBs are stupid accept Levonte David. Our corners dont tackle well and in cover 2 they have to be able to tackle(That was the real reason Deion Sanders refused to come to Tampa in the day). That is why Ronde was so successful. Safeties have to look to make the play and not just blow people up. John Lynch did both. The front four has to be beast and get to the QB without a lot of blitzing. I have been coaching football for 16 years and 5 years at the high school level and Brian Billick explains the Cover 2 in the most easy to understand way that I have seen. So in other words we have to give Lovie a chance to get his pieces in order and we need to just be patient. Me included.
