Many of you wrote to me last week after my posting of the Aggravated Harassment situation which necessitated police intervention. I appreciate your concern, and I assure you that I am ok. To put your minds at ease, I will further explain what happened. On July 12th I received a letter whose envelope had no return address. It appeared suspicious as the handwriting seemed to be deliberately altered. The inside, bearing the letter, was typewritten and the word dead was very visible. Being that it was Shabbos, we waited until after havdala and called our precint. The officer asked us if we have any idea who this might be, and the answer was yes. A certain person is known to write letters against me in the same fashion, meaning typewritten letter, handwritten envelope. In addition, this person has made similar threats not just to me but to others as well. The officer handled the evidence (death threat) very carefully, as we were determined to have this forensically analyzed. The law is interesting. If a homicide is committed then forensics automatically analyzes the evidence. But being that thank G-d, that is not the case, we needed to pay out of pocket to have this done by a private licensed detective. Expensive, it was. But, necessary, nonetheless. Fingerprints and saliva were found in the contents, and identified. Yes, we know who it is. If G-d forbid anything more serious happens, or same tactic repeated - it is at that point where an arrest will automatically be made. May Hashem thwart the plans of those who seek the physical harm of his children, and may we see the coming of Moshiach, BKorov.
