Many people are suspicious that President Obama, in some part, has fueled anti police sentiment. It was very bad judgment of his when in July of 2009, only 6 months into being President, in talking about the arrest of his friend at Harvard, Professor Gates, he said the police acted stupidly...but I dont have all the facts. That was really a dumb thing to say - it meant that he took sides (for his friend/against the police) in that he admitted he did not know what happened but said the police acted stupidly. Remember, this incident led to the beer summit but the President message was heard by many in law enforcement and they did not like it. It was a very bad message to send to men and women across the nation who every day put their lives on the line for the rest of us. Yes, of course this cop killer had a long history of mental illness and arrests and he is solely responsible for these murders.
