Many people tend to have high carbohydrate and low protein meals - TopicsExpress

Many people tend to have high carbohydrate and low protein meals for breakfast; however, we always stress the importance of eating protein at breakfast and several times throughout the day. There is new research backing this, which suggests that even distribution of protein throughout the day may be superior at increasing muscle growth. Mamerow and colleagues (2014) had one group eat three meals per day with an even distribution of protein (31.5 g, 29.9 g, and 32.7 g) and another eat with a skewed distribution (10.7 g, 16.0 g, and 63.4 g). The results indicated those who distributed their protein evenly throughout the day had a 25% higher fractional synthesis rate, which means they gained muscle and/or prevented muscle breakdown.
