Many people throughout the past 6mths to a year who run in to me, are shocked to see the weight Ive lost, but probably above that the look of overall life I have now. Everyone asks, and Im happy to say, since it took 9 years for Drs to find the answers and 9yrs of my life away from me. I have a major gluten intolerance. So bad, that it caused me initially symptoms that 3 hospitals initially early diagnosed me and treated me for MS. I was put on steroids and gained 40 lbs in less than a year when my child was a year and a half old and I was a single parent running a nationwide business. At this point, I couldnt really walk either. I shuffled around as if I had Parkinsons disease and I have never been so scared in my life. Over the course of the next 2 years, I went from Dr to Dr just having the same test run over and over again, thank God I had a great health plan. At this point, I was maxed out on Lyrica, had transporters to drive me, a great NaNa for my child, was involved in a church who opened their hearts to my child and I, but I was SO TIRED. At some point I was able to be referred to some great docs, due to my medical ties, who found out, my vitamin deficiencies at this point had caused neurological damage. So, treat deficiencies, then tackle the neuro damage. Now fast forward to 2014, where does that leave me? Well? I was trapped on meds for all those years which were allowing me to at least get out of bed, and I was better. However, not quality. I went to a new neurologist last fall because I was having attacks every few weeks that were terrible. I couldnt get out of bed again. I was trapped again. I was scarred again for hours, days sometimes. He told me to stop the gluten. He told me everytime I ate it, it would trigger my condition. He was right. Its incredible that my life, my daughter, my husband, my business, my future and all depended on that doctor. For those that do not believe in a guardian angel, call me.... I will tell you the longer version of this. Amen!
