Many thanks to everyone who sent me good wishes for my birthday - I spent the day working, but finished off with shameless champagne quaffing at the golf club!! For those interested, as of yesterday, I had completed 23 of my 50 tasks for my 50th year, and have a further seven either in progress or planned for the next couple of months. Thank you to all those who helped out, particularly Clive for attempting to teach me to play the guitar, Liz for coping with my inept crewing in Petrel last summer, and Jonathan, Katie and Emily for all their support and attempts not to laugh when my croquembouche collapsed!! I did, however, achieve my two main aims - to participate in the Great Manchester Run, and to raise £1000 for the Christie Hospital. Many many thanks and lots of love to those who sponsored me and made donations. You are all heroes xxxxx
