Many thanks to #robertrandolph of Robert Randolph & the Family Band for his time on the phone a few minutes ago. Robert and the band will be @ Daryls House Club in #pawling Feb. 7. I always enjoy speaking with Robert because he is from northern New Jersey and I grew up in Rockland County, on the Jersey border. And Robert always seems to hold a special fondness for the Hudson Valley - playing The Chance Theater and Hyde Park Brewing Co., the Mountain Jam Festival and, of course, paying homage to Radio Woodstock 100.1 WDST for being the first station to ever play his music. I asked Robert about his performance with Joe Walsh @ the #loveforlevon concert and he told me about his first manager turning him on to #theband, before Hendrix or the Allman Brothers Band.
