Many writers suffer from terrible bouts of bitterness at their lack of relative success and furious jealousy of their peers. I dont blame them for this. They are only human and the drive to outdo and do-down other members of the feeding group plays an important evolutionary role in primates; jealousy and bitterness are psychological presentations of the competitive drive which keeps us alive. They can be useful for artists if harnessed as motivating energies for creation.
