Marco Mancini You were a bootlegger back in 1926, running whiskey across the U.S.-Canadian Border for the Capone Crime Family in Chicago. Life was good back then and you never had to want for money, friends, or a pretty woman at your side. At least it was until your convoy of Canadian Whiskey got raided by the Treasury Department. In the ensuing firefight, you were mortally wounded on the U.S. side of the border and because of the loss of blood; you passed out and was left for dead. That night when you awoke, you could feel the Grim Reaper standing over you just waiting for you to close your eyes one final time. Just as you were about to fade into oblivion, you heard a woman’s voice call out to you…it asked you if you were willing to sell your soul in order to live forever. Given that fact that you had only a moment at best left of life in you, you feebly answered “Yes…” The woman, her name was Claudia took your life and the following evening you awoke to immortality; when asked what she wanted, her only reply was “I want a companion to walk with me for a time…” For the next 50 years, you and Claudia never parted, Dark Mother and Dark Son exploring the mysteries of the darkness of the world together. Eventually Claudia decided that it was time to part ways and one night back in 1976, she simply said her good byes and disappeared into the night. Over the years that followed, you decided to settle in the New England town of Arkham, just 20 miles north of Boston. For the moment you are content to stay in one place running your protection racket in Arkham, mostly hustling local businesses that are into all sorts of semi-legal to illegal enterprises. You have a Thrall of your own now, his name is Edgar. He is there to handling your bidding when it comes to things that really don’t deserve your special touch. He believes that your are going to bring him across someday, but in fact you have no intention to give such a broken soul the gift of immortality.
